Boundaries
by carolynholm
Hey Poppy,
Last night I heard you leave the room and move to your living room bed. I thought that was odd, so that’s why I got up to check on you.
Love, Carolyn
Mom,
Charlie was in my bed.
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
I saw that! You looked so relieved when I moved him and called you back.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Mom,
He likes my bed. Sometimes I like to sleep on the rug for a change, and next thing I know, he’s moved into my bed!
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
You need to draw the line, honey. Insist on some boundaries. That’s your bed!
Love, Carolyn
Dear Mom,
He doesn’t think of it that way.
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
I don’t understand why you let him steal it.
Love, Carolyn
Mom,
I don’t know how to make him move.
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
You are so sweet. Well, maybe you ought to surprise him by crawling into the bed with him.
Love, Carolyn
Mom,
He’d probably like that.
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
You’re right. So, maybe bunk together!
Love, Carolyn
Dear Mom,
I don’t like to sleep with anyone. Winston kept trying that for awhile. I had to tell him to knock it off.
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
You are very popular, sweetie.
Love, Carolyn
Dear Mom,
The cats are kinda pushy.
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
They do tend to get what they want. And Charlie really likes to stretch out on that dog bed. I’m sorry that he does that to you!
Love, Carolyn
Dear Mom,
That’s ok. I get to go for walks, and all he can do is look out the window.
XOXO Poppy
Dear Poppy,
That’s good way to look at it.
Love, Carolyn
Mom,
Yep. I win.
XOXO Poppy
